Kambi Teaming With Oaklawn Racetrack To Launch Oaklawn Sports

In the world of gambling, new partnerships have become an extremely common occurrence. Just this past week, the Baltimore Orioles struck a major deal with SuperBook Sportsbook, a partnership that brings a retail sportsbook to Oriole Park at Camden Yards. And that’s not to mention the massive amount of sportsbook partnerships that have been made in anticipation of the launch of Ohio sports betting.

However, while deals with teams and even stadiums are quite popular, it’s a bit more rare to see horse tracks teaming up with betting operators. Let’s take a look at the most recent partnership between a popular racetrack and one of the top software providers in betting, which will result in the creation of a brand new online betting app.

Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort Partners With Kambi

Kambi Group, an international company that supplies sports betting tech to numerous gambling operators, has just completed a deal with Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort. Oaklawn, which is located in Hot Springs National Park in Arkansas, is a classic Thoroughbred racetrack that also offers a hotel and casino.

Plenty of big races have been held at the track, such as the Bachelor Stakes, Arkansas Derby, and Arkansas Breeders’ Championship. With the deal, Kambi Group can now offer its betting products to Oaklawn’s casino and racetrack. This collaboration will result in the rollout of Oaklawn Sports, a brand new sports betting platform.

According to Gambling Insider, because of a prior partnership with Churchill Downs Incorporated, Oaklawn has been home to a Kambi brick-and-mortar sportsbook since last year. However, it appears as though the new deal will mean an Oaklawn Sports-branded retail sportsbook will replace the previous Kambi sportsbook.

Oaklawn Sports Could Make a Splash in Arkansas

With Oaklawn Sports entering the online sports betting market in the state of Arkansas, the new sportsbook has a major opportunity to gain some ground. The Natural State is home to two mobile sportsbooks at the moment, Betly Sportsbook and BetSaracen Sportsbook. Neither are major household names such as DraftKings or FanDuel, but have found success in the state.

While it’s taken some time to fully roll out its full offerings, Betly Sportsbook has gained popularity in the area as seen with its 40% total handle in April of 2022 without having its iOS mobile betting app available the entire month. However, BetSaracen has seen more success as of late, accounting for over $4 million of the July Arkansas betting handle as the top operator that month.

If Oaklawn Sports launches its mobile betting platform sooner rather than later, it could provide serious competition for the two other online sportsbooks in the state.

Kambi Group Continues Gaining New Partners

The recent deal with Oaklawn Park is one of many that Kambi Group has confirmed. Kambi Group has plenty of different current partnerships including another major name in horse racing with Churchill Downs Incorporated. The company also collaborates with major sports betting operators such as Unibet Sportsbook and MaximBet.

There are also plenty of other casinos that work with Kambi Group, such as Mohegan Sun Casino, Soaring Eagle Casino Resort, Casino Magic Hotel & Casino, and Seneca Resorts & Casinos. Plus, Kambi has partnered with Rush Street Interactive, the company behind such mobile sportsbook apps as BetRivers, PlySugarHouse, and RushBet.
