Genius Sports Teams Up With Brazil’s Betsul Sportsbook
Details of The Partnership
Per a Genius Sports press release: “Betsul will benefit from Genius Sports’ full suite of data-driven outsourced solutions including PreMatch, LiveTrading and Risk. Genius Sports will provide Betsul with full flexibility over their entire sportsbook operation, helping to maximize turnover, margins, and control.”
Additionally, Betsul bettors will have access to Genius Sports’ wide portfolio of Brazilian sports content that includes “pin-point pricing” and live stream of football, basketball, volleyball, futsal, and beach volleyball. This broadcasting agreement will include longtime Genius Sports partners like the Brazilian National Basketball League (LNB), Brazilian Volleyball Confederation (CBV), Liga Nacional de Futsal, and several others. Genius Sports will also offer official data on big international leagues such as the English Premier League, Liga MX, the Argentine Primera División, and Dimayor.
Both Genius Sports and Betsul have expressed major support for working with each other and in the Brazilian market. Citings from their press release say that gaming consultancy, H2 Gambling Capital, estimated that Brazil’s revenue in the sports gambling market should reach $1 billion by 2026.
Brazil Sports Betting Update
Brazil’s Secretariat of Evaluation, Planning, Energy, and Lottery (SECAP) has recently announced the newest set of rules and regulations for sports bettors and sports betting operators.
Under these new rules, Brazil’s Ministry of Economy will regulate the market. The ministry will set a deadline for gaming operators to purchase the five-year licenses, which will likely be in the next six months, at which point operators will have to cough up $22.2 million BRL (equivalent to $4.4 million USD) to operate. Current operators in Brazil will have to purchase a new license regardless of their current licensing status, and if it’s a newly licensed company, they will be required to promote responsible gambling information in their marketing campaign starting on the very first day of their launch. More finalizations to the licensing criteria are to come.
