DraftKings Best Bet: Colorado Rockies Moneyline vs. Pittsburgh Pirates
The Colorado Rockies are pretty much the definition of a Jekyll and Hyde MLB team. While Colorado is easily one of the worst teams in the league on the road, the team can stand up to the heaviest hitters in the league at home. It’s pretty easy to see that with the squad’s 15-27 road record and 25-22 home record. And, as they’re hosting a Pittsburgh Pirates team that’s also rough on the road, I’m expecting the Rockies to cruise to a win at Coors Field.
Pittsburgh also happens to have one of the worst bullpens in baseball, with a 4.65 ERA. While the Rockies have an even worse bullpen ERA (4.76), the team has the hitting to make up for it. Colorado is one of the top batting teams in the league, with a .260 average thanks to sluggers like C.J. Cron, Brendan Rodgers, and Charlie Blackmon. And the team puts up runs at Coors Field. A lot of runs. Look no further than Colorado’s 10-6 comeback win over the San Diego Padres on Wednesday night, complete with a José Iglesias home run. Neither of these teams in competitive divisions should expect a postseason berth this season, but I’m taking the home team to get enough runs to nab a win. And, with a clash of two of the worst bullpens out there, I’d take a look at the over as well.
