Caesars Sportsbook Best Bet For Bills Vs. Rams

Buffalo Bills Under 3.5 Total Touchdowns

Well, you certainly won’t get any style points here, but expecting the Bills to score four touchdowns in this game is aggressive in my opinion. Buffalo had four or more touchdowns in nine of its seven games last year and in both of its playoff games, but this is a difficult matchup for them for several reasons.

The Bills enter this season clearly planning on establishing their run game more often. Sean McDermott often spoke of his offense’s lack of physicality last year, and the offseason saw them draft a running back and sign two new offensive linemen. With Brian Daboll gone, Buffalo will likely attempt to be more of a run-first team.

While the shift towards more of a balanced offense might work in time, it will be tough to pay dividends in Week 1. The Rams ranked fourth in the NFL in rushing defense DVOA and only got better in that respect over the offseason with the addition of future Hall of Fame linebacker Bobby Wagner.

The Rams allowed 21.9 points per game last year, which ranked middle of the pack, but they only allowed 28+ points five times during the entirety of the regular season. They allowed less than 19 points per game across their four postseason contests. With the likes of Aaron Donald, Jalen Ramsey, and now Wagner in tow, this won’t be an easy matchup for the Bills.

I get that fading Josh Allen to start the football season isn’t anyone’s idea of fun, but I believe the under is the right side in this game. I like the under on this touchdown total even more, and you’re starting to see more sharp action on that side.
