BetMGM NY Super Bowl Bonus Best Bet: Evan McPherson Under 2.5 PATs

One of my favorite Super Bowl props heading into the weekend is Evan McPherson under 2.5 PAT’s. In each of the last 3 Super Bowls, and in 10 of the last 13, one team has failed to score 3 touchdowns. Given the stakes of the game, it’s typical for offenses to come out a little flat and for defensive lines to control the tempo of play early. In this regard, I like the Rams to control the pace in the first half behind their experienced defensive line led by Aaron Donald, Von Miller, and Leonard Floyd.

I think McPherson is going to put up his fair share of points in this game — I like him over 7.5 total points — but I think a majority of his production is going to come from field goals. I think Jalen Ramsey is a bad matchup for either Chase or Higgins and the Rams defense is going to stifle Cincinnati’s rushing attack as they have with opposing offenses all season. Never count out Joe Burrow, but a big part of the Bengals success this postseason has been McPherson connecting on long field goal attempts via failed Bengal drives in their opposition’s territory, not extra points off touchdowns.
