These numbers, which originally came from the Arizona Department of Gaming, are definitely massive, although a very slight dip from the previous month’s $486.1 million handle. This represents an 11% total hold for the sportsbooks. The sportsbooks did take a bit of a hit when it came to promotions and free bets in November, with a total of $18.4 million given out. This brought down overall revenue for the sportsbooks, something the state saw in the first two months of legal wagering as well.
Online sports betting dominated in Arizona, with 98.4% of the handle wagered online. The most popular online sportsbook in November? DraftKings Sportsbook. Throughout November, DraftKings accounted for $148.7 million in total wagers, representing 32.6% of the overall Arizona sports betting market. FanDuel Sportsbook, the longtime rival of DraftKings, saw a handle of $113.3 million, keeping 24.7% of the Arizona sports wagering market. It was definitely a tight competition in November, with BetMGM Arizona having 20.3% market share, Caesars Arizona with 13.9%, and a number of other betting platforms under 5%.
