Caesars Partners With Two Kentucky Racetracks As Sports Betting Launch Looms
Caesars Sportsbook, the online betting app from Caesars Entertainment, is now an official partner of two Kentucky horse racing tracks: Red Mile Gaming & Racing and Keeneland Race Course.
Two Kentucky Tracks Partner With Caesars Sportsbook
In a recently posted press release, Caesars Sportsbook announced that it is partnering up with Keeneland Race Course and Red Mile Gaming & Racing. The partnerships will allow Caesars Sportsbook to offer its mobile sports betting in the state once Kentucky rolls out its legal wagering market.
Plus, if Caesars gets the green light from the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission, two of the platform’s retail sportsbooks will be available to open up in the state. These Caesars brick-and-mortar sportsbooks would be the only retail sports betting locations available in Central Kentucky.
In addition to the implications for Caesars Sportsbook in the Bluegrass State, these partnerships also further tie the Caesars Entertainment betting brand to horse racing. Kentucky is one of the many states where Caesars Racebook is available, in addition to Maryland, Indiana, Florida, Washington Oregon, Wyoming, Ohio, North Dakota, Minnesota, Massachusetts, Louisiana, and Montana. Caesars Entertainment is also launching a new Thoroughbred track at its Harrah’s Columbus Racing & Casino in Columbus, Nebraska next year.
The partnership news comes just a week and a half after the conclusion of the 149th Kentucky Derby, the most popular event in horse racing betting. The Preakness Stakes, the second race of the Triple Crown, is scheduled for Saturday, May 20th.

Kentucky Sports Betting Will Be Here Soon
The anticipated launch of Kentucky sports betting will be here by the end of 2023. Kentucky sports betting can launch anytime between June 28th and December 28th of this year, giving the state a six-month window to get all the details worked out for its legal sports betting offerings. The Kentucky sports betting bill HB 551 passed on March 31st, 2023, with a 25-12 Senate vote followed shortly by a signature from Governor Andy Beshear.
There is plenty of potential for the Kentucky sports betting market once it launches. With Caesars Sportsbook expected to be joined by big names like DraftKings Sportsbook, BetMGM Sportsbook, and FanDuel Sportsbook, bettors in the area will have access to some of the top U.S. sports betting operators from the start. And, if the timing is right, bettors in the state will be able to wager on local college sports teams like the Kentucky Wildcats, Louisville Cardinals, and Bowling Green Hot Rods at the beginning of the college football season, which starts on Saturday, August 26th, 2023.
Although Caesars Racebook is live in the state and Caesars Sportsbook Kentucky will launch soon, iGaming is still not available. That means that online casino apps like Caesars Casino Online are not currently available in the area.
